Viking flap skirt or coat in cotton, brown
This viking flap skirt or coat was made of cotton (canvas).
The hull section has been lined and is therefore perfectly suited for cold days. We recommend combining it with a belt. It is worn similarly to a bathrobe, which is also closed with a belt. A belt is not included in the scope of delivery and must be purchased by yourself if required.
It ends just above the knee and is thus suitable for the depiction of the early Middle Ages.
The flap skirt was formerly worn by the Eurasian equestrian peoples and was brought to the West during the migration period, where it was adopted by the Vikings and Rus.
Typical for the Nordic flap skirt are the triangular flaps of the front part, which are folded over each other and held by a belt. As well as the decoration with bands woven from boards.
Fragments of such Viking cloaks have been found in the settlement of Haithabu. The flap coat was combined with a tunic and harem pants.
