Late Medieval Doublet in Velvet
The doublet appeared in Spain in the 15th century and spread throughout Europe. Body-hugging clothes and the attachment of nesting ribbons were not uncommon at this time. They were often combined with so-called melon trousers and a white shirt. It is therefore perfectly suited for the portrayal of the late Middle Ages.
The doublet is made of velvet and looks very noble. The high-quality ball buttons complete the picture of the black velvet. The shoulder plates give the stature an upright posture.
The set-in lap is slit and has hidden embroidered eyelets in the front. The eyelets give the option of attaching trousers.
