For decades now, Lynn C. Thompson has used his scarce 'free' time to travel the world and test products while hunting and fishing. On these trips to distant lands, he not only takes care of the processing of the game he shoots himself (which is then donated to local communities), but spends what little time he can then spare in constant search of new ideas, insightful information, or expert tricks of the trade, and meets with every local butcher, fisherman, hunter, or chef to do so.

Cold Steels® Commercial collection is the culmination of this year-long accumulation of knowledge and insight. Developed by Lynn, this series offers a huge selection of versatile blades for commercial users and professionals. Each model in the series is made of 4116 steel, sharpened to razor sharpness, and can be easily resharpened on the job or in the field. All handles are made of a stiff, durable Zy-Ex™core and a softer, food-safe Kray-Ex™outer layer that provides a comfortable, non-slip grip even during hours of use.

I have had the privilege of experiencing many hunting adventures around the world with Tim Wells and have always been impressed with his knowledge and talent. When he fell in love with the Scalper knife from our Commercial series, I suggested he make a Slock Master version of it. Stainless 4116 knife steel
4116 steel is a fine-grained, stainless knife steel. It is often used for pharmaceutical equipment and for high quality kitchen knives. Its balanced carbon to chromium ratio provides both premium rust protection and great strength. Very fine, extremely sharp cutting edges are sharpenable. An excellent choice for outdoor / hunting knives and kitchen knives and utensils.
