This ladies' bonnet was made from a fabric in a herringbone pattern. The hood has a square shape and a wide brim.
The Skjoldehamn Gugel was discovered in a pagan grave from the first half of the 11th century. This is one of the first examples of the headgear "Gugel" per se.
