Viking Axe from Gotland
This replica was made after a beard axe from 800 - 1099 A.D., which was made in Rommunds (Gammelgarn, Gotland, Sweden).
The head of the Viking Axe was hand forged from carbon steel and was decorated with plant shaped elements. The original dimensions were taken into account and kept. It probably served as a battle axe, as well as a working axe. The original can be admired in the State Historical Museum (Historiska museet) in Stockholm.
