Reversible Viking shoes type Jorvik brown
These reversible sewn shoes are suitable for all those who attach much importance to an authentic representation. In the production of these shoes, attention was paid to the authentic manufacture of the shoes. They were made of high quality cowhide leather, which is very sturdy and stable.
They are hand dyed by us, so there is no machine process in the dyeing.
The reversible shoes are based on a find, which can be found today in the Museum of London. Very similar toggle shoes have also been found in Jorvik (York) and Haithabu. We recommend the shoes for the representation of the 9th - 11th century.
About the color:
The offered shoe is dyed by hand with alcohol-based oil paint and then sealed.
Our dyeing method gives the shoe a character in antique look, because the pores of the natural material leather are different and accordingly the color is absorbed differently in some places. Thus, each shoe is unique.
About the size:
The shoes usually fit well with the usual street shoe size. Should you fluctuate between two sizes, we recommend to choose the smaller size, because the leather still expands in use.
