italian barbute around 1440 made of 2 mm thick steel - battle ready

This fully show combat helmet replica is part of the Avant-armor, which is now in the Kellingtove Museum, Glasgow. This type of helmet was especially common in the late Middle Ages in Northern Italy, but was worn throughout Europe.

The helmet was made of 2 mm thick steel in 2 parts. He was driven in manual labor, carefully welded, cleanly ground and then polished.
A chinstrap incl. buckle as well as a padded fabric inlay was worked in for fastening on the head.
