Viking cross axe from Gotland, 10th century
This Viking axe was made after an original find, which was dated to the 10th century and comes from the Swedish island, Gotland.
This axe head is very unusual because of its appearance. It was made of spring steel and has a blunt edge. It was riveted to the shaft with rivets.
