This chainmail leg protection was made from flat rings, which are closed by means of wedge rivets. This type of braiding is typical for ring armour of the European late Middle Ages. The braiding is 4 in 1.
They can be fastened individually, e.g. with wire, nests or leather cords and/or with leather straps.
Another fastening possibility is to sew them onto an existing (leather) trousers.

Especially in the late Middle Ages, chainmail leg protection were used as additional protection under plate armour, so that exposed areas were protected.

These chainmail leg protection are therefore ideal for depicting the late Middle Ages.
