With this shoe model, we concentrated on historical correctness in detail.
The shoes are made as turn sewn shoes reversed sewn. This means the upper leather is stitched to the sole and afterwards turned outwards so the seam is within the shoes and not outside. Just like in medieval times. The seams on upper leather are done in shock-seam. You see no seam outside as well just as it was produced back then.
A small leather flap is stitched to the heel part between upper leather and sole. This flap is practical for adding a second heel sole or repairing the shoe. Also made after historical record of late medieval shoes.
The shoes are made of vegetal tanned leather
Upper leather thickness: approximately 2.5mm
outsole leather thickness: app. 3-4mm
Upper material: leather
This model fits well if you just pick your regular shoe size. If you tend to need a half size we recommend to pick the smaller size as the leather stretches with useage.
These shoe model comes ungreased and undyed. This means you can dye and grease or just grease the shoes. Grease nurtures and protects the leather. Therefore we highly recommend greasing these shoes regularly.
