Late medieval half-boots with laces. Shoes of this type have been worn across all classes throughout a long period. This shoe type is also featured in the book "shoes and patterns" from Francis Grew and Margarethe de Neergard and dated to 1100-1450.
Almost indistinguishable from a turn-sewed shoe, but much more stable in construction as it features a thick sole which is nailed to the top leather.
The sole consists of two pieces of sole leather. The first sole is nailed with hob nails additionally to make a better grip on grassland and extend lifetime of the shoe.
The leather on top is very supple and extremely rugged. Findings of these shoes are in many museums. Similar findings shoes are also available in earlier times.

Regarding size:
If you wear the shoes with an inlay sole and thick socks, you can choose just your foot size and it should fit. If you don't use inlay soles or thick socks, then please take them a size smaller so they won't be too big.

We color the shoes after incoming order individual which takes app. 5 working days. This is the reason for the stated delivery time. Despite that you have your fully withdrawal right of 1 month.
We color the shoes with oil dye on an alcohol base which is a very good solution for a medieval look. Most offered shoes in this price category are painted with colors on acryl base which is a covering color. But medieval coloring meant that the color soaks into the leather and you still see the natural surface texture afterwards. Even if our color has synthetic paint pigments, it exactly does that. It soaks into the leather and gives you this beautiful look as shown in the pictures. Every pair of shoes is unique due to the fact that the pores in the leather soak differently. Due to our manufacturing you get this antique look and a truly highlight for your medieval garb.
