Vikings calf / leg wraps, canvas, wine red
These cotton canvas calf wraps were made from one piece. They are one color. The edges are sewn with a flatlock seam. This way there are no pressing seams. They are closed by means of cotton ties.
Calf wraps (also known as leg wraps or puttees) were an integral part of Germanic clothing. They were wrapped over the pants, from the foot to below the knee. Thus, they served as a substitute for socks and not only warmed, but at the same time protected the legs from injury. Numerous fragments of calf wraps have been found in Haithabu.
