Viking trefoil brooch from Tranby
This beautiful Viking trefoil brooch was made after an original from Tranby in Norway, which places it in the 10th century and the Jelling or Borre style. The original is 3cm larger than our reproduction, but it does not lose any of its charm.
On the backside a stable needle was attached, which also carries heavier fabrics.
Stylistically, it can be assigned to the borre or jelling style of the Viking Age. The borre style was particularly popular in the middle of the 9th century until it was replaced by the jelling style at the beginning of the 10th century.
