Viking Gugel, Skjoldehamn, div. Colors
This gugel is based on an archaeological find, dated between the 10th and 12th century. In 1936 a bog body was discovered in Norway on the farm Skjoldehamn, which was completely dressed. Whether it was a woman or a man could not be clearly determined until today. Characteristic for the gugel, which the corpse wore, is the pointed hem on the chest and the square inserted there.
This gugel can be individually adjusted by means of a cord, which is in the neck. It is worn as a separate hood. It is made of 100% cotton (canvas) and is therefore not waterproof, but can be subsequently treated with an impregnation spray.
