Viking Axe (Long Axe)
This Viking axe (or long axe) has an impressive blade, which has a good sharpness. The cutting edge is about 25 cm long and the shape ends in 2 points. Usually the larger tip (top) was used for stabbing or parrying, whereas the smaller tip (bottom) was used to capture an enemy shield or to capture and incapacitate the enemy at the neck, arm or foot.
The shaft was made of the so-called hickory wood, which usually has an extraordinary resilience and is very hard.
