Schnitzel TRI Outdoor Knife, Special Edition

The Schnitzel TRI is already a successful all-purpose knife, but Schnitzel Germany was not enough! For particularly active outdoor enthusiasts, we have decided to make the TRI even more bushcraft, tougher, more guide and more practical to optimize your adventure even more!

It all starts with the choice of blade steel. Here, we chose CPM 3V from Crucible Industries LLC in the USA. This powder metallurgy tool steel (59-61 HRC) is known for being extremely tough, wear resistant and corrosion resistant. In addition, it has excellent edge retention that is long lasting depending on use. However, the 3V steel can definitely rust as it has not been optimized for corrosion resistance. Therefore, this knife should be cared for to prevent corrosion, even though the chrome content is over 7%. If the knife becomes dull over time, we recommend grinding with diamond stones.

To give the Special TRI even more uses, the full-tang blade has a sharp-edged striking pommel on the end that can perform versatile tasks in bushcrafting. Attached to the eyelet of the striking pommel is a black paracord catch strap for added safety while working to prevent slipping. Another feature is the back of the blade, which is kept sharp here in particular, making it a breeze to create sparks and start a campfire. The blade itself has received a light stonewash finish to make it a little less sensitive to scratches.

The handle scales of the Special Tri consist of contoured handle scales made of dark green-brown micarta, which, to match the steel, has very robust properties and blends very well with the stonewash blade in terms of color. The contouring provides a secure grip, a comfortable hand position and makes this TRI in comparison to the variants with G-10 handle even more leader.

The ultra-rugged Kydex sheath with ergonomic thumb ramp has been retained and has been given a firesteel along with Kydex mount for the Special Edition. And like all current TRIs, the knives have a dangler carry system that allows the knife to be carried comfortably on the loop on the belt without being too annoying or too bulky. In the squat or even sitting, the TRI is so always at hand.
