Royal Kukri Machete with Sheath

A good Kukri is an unwavering partner in an emergency situation and an indispensable survival tool. Finding a more versatile knife is a difficult proposition.

For more than two decades, Cold Steel's President Lynn C. Thompson has been exploring the potential of the kukri knife. When he decided to design a new Kukri, he drew inspiration from the many hours he had spent at Cold Steel's training center. Looking for ways to improve on an already near-perfect design, he and his team spared no effort, spending countless sparring hours testing various prototypes.

Lynn C. Thompson realized that many of the features that make a great knife also prove ideal for a great survival tool: A sharp blade, a solid tip, good hand protection and a versatile handle are all key ingredients. After stripping the Kukri back to its essentials, he was then able to redesign the knife from the ground up.

The redesigned blade is presented in a completely different light: It has lost none of the cutting power that made the Kukri a legend, but its impact and penetrating power have increased. The handle with built-in parry element not only protects the user's precious fingers, but also gives the knife a significantly different balance and weight distribution.

The newly christened Royal Kukri has been extensively field tested. It proved to be an outstanding multi-functional bushcraft knife, suitable for the toughest bushcraft work, from chopping firewood to killing injured game. As a last resort in a critical situation, it could also serve as a self-defense weapon.

A rugged Cor-Ex™ sheath provides secure protection for the fully sharpened 1055 carbon steel blade coated with a rust-resistant matte black baked enamel finish.
