Open medieval globe "Markus", canvas, various colors
This open medieval globe is made of sturdy canvas. The hood is comfortable to wear, because it is cut wide and is closed in front with a ribbon. Chronologically, this gugel can be assigned to the High Middle Ages.
The gugel is characterized by its hood covering the shoulders. It was first worn by the Vikings and in the High Middle Ages it was already part of the everyday clothing of farmers, craftsmen and travelers. From the 14th century, one could observe how the fit became tighter and ornaments became more, however, from the 16th century it was rarely used.
