Medieval pilgrim bag, different colors

This medieval bag is made of sturdy canvas. A braided ribbon is applied on the carrying strap. It can be worn as a crossover bag or as a shoulder bag. By means of a drawstring and a latch, the opening of the bag can be closed. The sides of the bag and the ends of the drawstring are decorated with small tassels / tassels.

Shoulder bags were used in the Middle Ages by women and men alike. Depictions of medieval bags can be found, for example, in the Maciejowski Bible (also Crusader Bible) from the 13th century.
