This medieval jug, or Siegburg jug, was made after an original, which dates back to the 14th century.
The Kurg is made of built-up pottery and was made by hand on the potter's wheel. It is a so-called stoneware, which means that it is sintered by high firing temperature. This makes it waterproof and food safe.
