Italian Kettle hat around 1460 made of 1.6 mm thick steel - battle ready
This helmet was manufactured after an original, which is dated to the year 1460. This type of helmet was used in Italy, Switzerland and Southern Germany, especially by infantry troops. The wide brim protected the head, shoulders, chest and back from attacks from above, such as hail of arrows.
It was made of 1.6 mm thick steel in 2 parts, which were welded together in the middle. The brim and the steel bands, which additionally strengthen the helmet, were riveted on.
For the attachment on the head, a chinstrap, as well as a padded leather inlay was attached.
