Gothic Gorget made of 1.2 or 1.6 mm thick steel
This Gorget is a reconstruction from about 1480, which was made by the German Plattner Matthes Deutsch.
The original belongs to the Royal Armouries and is exhibited in the Tower of London.
It was made of 1.2 or 1.6 mm thick steel and consists of several parts.
The chest and back parts were riveted together on the left side, on the right side by means of leather straps incl. fastenings. The leather strap is adjustable in size, so the Gorget can be adjusted.
The chin guard consists of 3 parts, which are joined together by means of rivets, which makes it movable.
