Early medieval Birka type scaled armour made of galvanized steel sheds
This scale armour is a replica of early medieval lamella armour, as worn by the Saxons, Fanken and Vikings, for example. They were popular with Germanic tribes, as finds from Visby and Birka prove.
Our lamella armour is made of about 430 steel scales, which are tied together with thick leather cords. The scales are also galvanized and therefore offer a certain protection against rust.
