Chain skirt made of riveted and punched rings, Ø 6mm
This chain skirt consists of 2 types of rings. One row was made of riveted rings, the next of punched rings.
Also in the Middle Ages chain skirts, chain shirts etc. were made in this way, because it was not so time-consuming.
This makes it possible to use steel rings with a thickness of only 1 mm without losing their strength. This results in a weight reduction of 30-35%.
This chain skirt is also well suited as a base material for your own projects.
This ring armour fabric was mainly used in the late Middle Ages. At that time plate armour was very popular. As the transition and open areas were not protected, chain mail armour was used.
