Late medieval steel chainmail collar, 8mm
This chainmail collar (or bishop's collar) consists of 2 types of flat rings. One row was made from riveted rings, the next from punched rings. Also in the Middle Ages, chain skirts, chain shirts etc. were made in this way, as it was not and still is not so time-consuming.
The weave type is 4 in 1.
This type of chainmail collars were worn in the late Middle Ages and are therefore well suited to represent the late Middle Ages.
They were sewn or nested to the clothing for optimal hold.
