chainmail aventail made of unriveted rings, galvanised, Ø 8 mm
This chainmail aventail was made from unriveted rings. The surface of the rings were galvanized, which is why they offer a certain protection against rust.
In the Middle Ages, chainmail aventail were attached to helmets, such as nose-type helmets, or, above all, to late medieval pelvic caps. They were worn as additional neck and shoulder protection.
The rim was made of thick cowhide leather sewn to the chain mail. The fastening holes for the helmet must be made by the customer himself.
