The SCHNITZEL is a children's carving knife / outdoor knife that has it in him and does not need to hide from the knives of adults! It bears the name UNU.

Due to its non-slip and contoured G-10 handle scales, it is extremely robust and is incredibly good and above all safe in the hand of children (about 4-10 years). Three different, eye-catching and modern handle colors make it easy to find again in nature. Available with handle scales in pink, green, blue or orange-red.

The SCHNITZEL is a full-tang construction made from one piece of stainless steel with a stonewash finish that holds its edge and is easy to resharpen. To increase safety during use, the tip of the blade is rounded for children. However, the cutting edge is sharpened because that's the way it should be: Carving with a sharply honed blade minimizes the risk of injury because less pressure needs to be applied.

The weight and size of the SCHNITZEL children's carving knife are optimized so that it is comfortable to use for younger and older children alike.

Crowning the above features of the knife is an ultra-rugged and almost all-forgiving sheath made of Kydex material. It closes around the knife like a glove and ensures safe carrying. The belt loop is removable. Wetness, mud and cold cannot harm it. A paracord lanyard in handle color completes the overall look.

Clear rules when carving with children:
Since a knife, is a sharp object, clear rules should be established from the beginning. Although our products are perfectly designed for small hands, nevertheless, certain safety precautions should be observed:
1.) Always carve while sitting, because it is true: He who carves, sits!
2.) The correct body posture when carving: For a secure hold, the feet rest firmly on the floor when sitting with the legs wide apart. The upper body is slightly bent forward and the arms rest on the thighs.
3.) When carving, always keep two arm lengths (about one meter) safe distance from other people.
4.) Carving with a sharpened blade minimizes the risk of injury because less pressure must be applied.
5.) The carving motion should always be away from the body.
6.) After carving, the blade is safely stowed in the sheath.
7.) The bark of living trees is taboo.
Generally, carving should always be supervised by an adult. In addition, the role model function of parents also applies here: Who does not conscientiously exemplify the rules, runs the risk that the child also does not adhere to the safety precautions.
