In 1973, Lynn C. Thompson purchased the very first knife made by knifemaker Lloyd Pendleton. The two became fast friends and together they collaborated on one of Cold Steel®'s most popular hunting knife collections, the critically acclaimed Pendleton series.

The Pendleton Mini Hunter was designed with a single goal in mind: to reduce a practical hunting knife to the smallest possible size. Despite its small size and unassuming appearance, this great hunting knife can even skin, gut and process big game. The Mini Hunter is an indispensable tool and a perfect addition to any hunting or survival kit. Included is a rugged, weather-resistant Secure-Ex® sheath that provides secure storage, yet remains light enough for optimal comfort around the clock.

Since 2015, the Pendleton Mini Hunter has also been available with a blade made of high-quality American CPM 3V carbon steel with a durable DLC coating (Diamond Like Coating). This additional carbon layer provides even better resistance in the field.

CPM 3V Steel
This modern tool steel may be a bit more expensive, but it is surprisingly tough and exceptionally wear resistant. It is a fine-grained powder steel. With its very uniform microstructure, it offers first-class resistance to impact and great edge retention, even with very fine cutting edges. It is a perfect steel for larger blades where extreme resilience is required.
